Society for Research in Adult Development

The Annual Symposium

The Symposium includes presentations of data and theory on a variety of topics relevant to positive adult development. The Society has a particular interest in encouraging research, discussion and presentations on populations that have not been traditionally studied.

Because this Society is dedicated to positive adult development, sessions are organized to foster discussion and interaction among participants as much as possible. This makes the listener, as well as the presenter, more of an active participant and permits both to engage in dialogue on the topics presented.

This goal is accomplished by the use of several session types. Whatever the session type a participant elects, all are strongly urged to condense their papers into a small number of key points, and to leave details for people to read in reprints and to hear about in discussions.
