Ellen C. Banks is Professor of Psychology at Daemen College in Buffalo, New York.   Her Ed.D. in Human Development is from Harvard Graduate School of Education.  She has studied and taught Human Development topics throughout of the life span, including infancy, early childhood,  adolescence, recently, cognitive development in early adulthood.

Before focusing on early adult development, she has studied cultural conceptions of child temperament in Malaysia, and the effects of lead exposure on early childhood development.  As a faculty member in a predominantly teaching institution,  she has been active in in the assessment and development of reflective judgment in college students, and in designing an undergraduate psychology curriculum that emphasizes hands-on research experience.

Dr. Michael Lamport Commons did his undergraduate work at the University of California at Berkeley, and then at Los Angeles, where in 1965 he obtained a B.A. in both mathematics and in psychology. In 1967, he earned his M.A., and in 1973 his Ph.D., in psychology from Columbia University. Before coming to Harvard University in 1977 as a postdoctoral fellow and then becoming research associate in psychology, he was an assistant professor at Northern Michigan University.

Currently, he is Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and directs research in the Program in Psychiatry and the Law and Director of the Dare Institute, Cambridge, MA. He is cofounder and President of Society for Quantitative Analyses of Behavior, and of The Society for Research in Adult Development, and is Founder of the Journal of Adult Development. He was senior editor of Quantitative Analyses of Behavior, Volumes 1-11. Most recently, was editor for three special issues of the Journal of Adult Development. He has over a 115 publications including "Informed consent: Do You Know It When You See It? Evaluating the adequacy of patient consent and the value of a lawsuit in Psychiatric Annals June 2006, "The existence of developmental stages as shown by the hierarchical complexity of tasks." Developmental Review; "Organizing Components into Combinations: How Stage Transition Works," Journal of Adult Development. His research interests include the quantitative analysis of the construction, understanding and experiencing of reality as it develops across the life span and evolutionarily. He is interested in how these elements affect behavior and decision processes, life-span attachment and alliance formation in a number of domains including the ethical, moral, epistemological, esthetic and evaluative. He studies these cross-culturally in the therapeutic, social, educational, political, medical, psychiatric, legal and private sectors. He also studies professionalism in doctors including psychiatrists, expert witnesses, and lawyers.

Before earning her Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies, specializing in Psychology and Political Development, Sara Nora Ross spent many years as a writer, accountant, spiritual director in retreat and client work, designer and convener of public meetings and forums, action and theoretical researcher, and designer of developmental curricula for diverse educational settings. Her research interests revolve around fostering healthy individual and socio-political developmental. Specifically, they include replicable public processes for complex policy and systemic issues-work as well as integral, developmental approaches to the interrelated domains of corruption, economic behaviors, terrorism, and democratization theory, research, and praxis.

She is the founder of ARINA, Inc., the publisher of Integral Review: A Transdisciplinary and Transcultural Journal for New Thought, Research, and Praxis. She serves on the editorial boards of Integral Review and the International Journal of Public Participation and on the Management Review Board of the Integral Leadership Review. In addition to SRAD, her professional affiliations include the Society for Terrorism Research (co-founder and governing board), Society for Chaos Theory in Psychology and Life Sciences (membership chair), and International Society of Political Psychology. She is an associate author of Action Inquiry: The Secret of Timely and Transforming Leadership (2004, Berrett-Koehler), and co-editor of an upcoming special issue in World Futures: The Journal of General Evolution.
